Welcome to the home of Breckland Brass Band. Situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border UK, we are passionate about bringing the joy of brass music to the communities of Thetford, Brandon and beyond. We are a non-contesting, community brass band who welcome players of all ages and abilities.

Rehearsals are at The Thetford Academy, Croxton Road, Thetford, Norfolk, UK. 

The Main Band for all ages of players rehearses on

Wednesday evenings 6.45-8.45pm

Training Band for youngsters and adult beginners/returners rehearses on

Mondays 3-4pm

Brass Beginners for Thetford Academy pupils is on Monday lunchtimes.

We can provide instruments, uniforms and music for members.

Our musical journey

Breckland Brass Band prides itself on a rich heritage and a commitment to musical innovation. We perform all types of music from traditional brass band classics to contemporary arrangements.

Originally beginning life as 'Green Bros Works Band' formed on 21st January 1951 by Tom and Frank Green of Greens Timber Works in Brandon, with the original band master, Harold Bowes, the band later became 'Breckland Brass Band' in 1971. It has a long and rich history of performing at local events. The band is dedicated to promoting a love of music and a sense of community music across East Anglia. Breckland Brass Band has raised many thousands of pounds for charity over its long history.
